Need a Definition of "North San Diego County?"
The North County Coastal area refers to the northwest part of San Diego County, California, along the shores of the Pacific Ocean with it's northern border running south of Camp Pendleton. It includes communities like Carlsbad, San Marcos and Oceanside. Unfortunately, there isn't a specific definition of "North County." San Diegans usually refer to North County as anything north of where they live! So when I refer to North San Diego County, I am referring to those communities I serve - Bonsall, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, San Marcos, and Vista. The communities in the North San Diego County coastal area are diverse - from their economies, to their manufacturing, construction, tourism, education, medicine and technology sectors.
Located less then 20 miles up the coast from San Diego is the community of Carlsbad CA. Carlsbad will forever be associated with the miles of beaches, fantastic private and public golf courses, and lovely views, but it is also has some of the best schools in San Diego County. In addition, you can find Carlsbad real estate in nearly every price range.
Located in the coastal foothills just 35 minutes north of downtown San Diego is the City of San Marcos. Home to California State University San Marcos and Palomar College, San Marcos has quickly become the education hub of North San Diego County.
